Osteopathy.
At Agile we see Osteopathy as a way of relieving pain by encouraging the body’s natural healing abilities.
Osteopathy utilises manual assessment and treatment techniques to restore correct body mechanics, nerve impulse and circulation.
It views the body as a whole, taking into account all areas of movement during treatment, rather than solely the area of discomfort.
Osteopath uses the principle that the body is capable of healing and regulating its self. With the correct alignment of the body it is able to function as it was designed.
Treatments will take into account motion restrictions and asymmetries of the body, with the goal of facilitating normal movement.
It is through a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology, and with excellent palpation skills, that an osteopathic manual therapist is able to detect and treat these restrictions

What to expect?
The aim of your treatment will be to promote normal asymmetries and movement across the body, in order to promote the body’s natural healing. This will start with a full dynamic assessment of your body movement, followed by the creation of a treatment plan and treatment.
The assessment will look at the entire body, looking for restrictions which can be affecting the pain or discomfort, strength or range of motion that you are experiencing. Palpation may be used in the assessment to understand the body’s tissue.
Treatments can include mobilisation of joints and soft tissue, palpation, and more.
